If you live anywhere where the ground can freeze, you need to have your sprinklers winterized. It is necessary to have your lines "blown out" (not blown up!) to get them dry. This way, your system will not crack by the freezing of residual water in the lines.
Before winter sets in, consider giving your lawn some attention. Perennial weeds are weakened, so it's a good time to attack them, and aeration and seeding are also treatments to consider so that you have a lush lawn next summer.
October and November are the perfect time for tidying up after Mother Nature does her thing with the wind, leaves and trees. Don't let autumn pass you by without attending to your trees that need attention after the last storm, or a clean up of your leaves so your lawn can breathe again.
